Core Responsibilities:

As a Supervisor of Child Welfare Case Management, your role will involve the planning, coordination, direction, and oversight of caseworkers and support personnel in the realms of child safety, adoption, and alternative care assigned to your unit. You will evaluate and allocate casework responsibilities; and review, monitor, and provide guidance to your team regarding cases and service delivery. Your primary duties will encompass:
1. Ensuring that established quality service standards are upheld.
2. Consulting with and advising staff on casework to assist with challenging cases and workload issues.
3. Assessing and comparing the performance and/or outputs of staff against established benchmarks to evaluate productivity levels and training requirements.
4. Collaborating with other agencies and community resources to coordinate services, promote essential community resources, and oversee cooperative agreements.
5. Analyzing and recommending program-wide modifications and establishing unit protocols and objectives to enhance the quality and continuity of services.
6. Coordinating efforts between the unit and service providers to effectively deliver social services to clients.
7. Authorizing service provision and expenditures related to clients and caseworkers.
8. Negotiating various contracts and agreements with service providers and others to ensure the delivery of appropriate services.
9. Evaluating and reviewing cases to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, standards, and requirements, and participating in court hearings as necessary.
10. Directing, coordinating, and/or participating in after-hours coverage to ensure adequate staffing.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be eligible, your background must include eight (8) years of education and/or professional experience in social work, which includes at least two (2) years of experience as a fully licensed social worker (LSW). A Master's degree is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills/experience:

1. Recent experience in professional child welfare case management.
2. A comprehensive understanding of and recent experience with MACWIS/Katahdin.
3. Four years of experience as a fully licensed social worker.

*An LMSW or LCSW automatically satisfies the two (2) years fully licensed social worker experience requirement.
