As a Medical Equipment Specialist, you will support critical hospital operations through the installation of hospital equipment, including sterilizers, lights/booms, and utility connections in various settings, such as operating rooms and sterile processing areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Installation Project Managers to schedule product installation in coordination with equipment delivery, customer availability, and construction schedules.
  • Verify rough-in dimensions and utilities are adequate to meet equipment specifications.
  • Perform installation of Steris products, including uncrating, assembling, setting or lifting product into place, leveling, connecting utilities, and testing unit.
  • Complete service documentation electronically.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through post-installation activities, including disposal of packing and shipping crate material, ensuring equipment is wiped down and fingerprints are removed, and addressing any questions/issues before leaving the site.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in a construction or HVAC installation/repair field or Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical or similar degree, plus 1+ year(s) of related mechanical experience.
  • Plumbing and electrical experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in computers and Windows software.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside normal business hours, and travel extensively to support business needs.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements.
