Position OverviewOur client is seeking a dedicated Small Animal Veterinary Practitioner to contribute to their operations on a permanent basis.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct veterinary assessments and provide necessary care and treatment, including routine surgical procedures.
- Offer technical and scientific guidance to the animal care team and research personnel.
- Implement health monitoring protocols and evaluate results from food, bedding, and water analyses.
- Ensure adherence to the animal welfare policy established by the organization.
- Engage in the education and training of staff regarding animal welfare and humane treatment.
- Participate in the development and refinement of innovative methods (surgical techniques, sampling procedures, new dosing methods, etc.).
- Involve yourself in specific experimental phases related to efficacy, pharmacokinetics, bioequivalence, and safety assessments (including neurological evaluations and comprehensive necropsy procedures as necessary).
- Actively engage with the Ethics Committee and Animal Welfare Body.
- Oversee the management of the veterinary pharmacy in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor regulatory documentation and ensure the maintenance of welfare accreditation.
- Participate in client Animal Welfare audits and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a veterinary degree recognized in Ireland and be registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, is essential.
A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Contractual Details
This role is governed by a collective agreement applicable to the pharmaceutical industry.
Compensation
Salary range: €40,000 to €70,000.
Health insurance coverage: 60% of the cost.
Additional Information
On-call duties may be required occasionally during evenings and weekends, though this will be infrequent.
