Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at La Maestra Community Health Centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Conduct minor troubleshooting and repairs to locks, doors, and other fixtures
  • Change filters and perform routine maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units
  • Service and hook up appliances
  • Report mechanical malfunctions to the appropriate party
  • Exercise discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person
  • Annotate and update work logs for specific site requirements
  • Perform ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns and trimming hedges
  • General cleaning and upkeep of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and washing windows
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure the continued smooth operation of machines and building systems
  • Assist other departments as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with other employees and patients
  • Attend staff meetings
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Current Valid CPR Certification required
  • 1-2 years' experience in construction, plumbing, or a related maintenance position
  • Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
  • Accurate keyboarding skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
  • Knowledge of communities served and experience working in medical settings
Work Environment

Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
