About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Health - Central Texas is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Surgical team in the Lakeway region. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories to assess patients' physical and mental conditions.
  • Ordering and Interpreting Tests: Order, collect, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs.
  • Prescribing and Recommending Treatments: Prescribe, recommend, and employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures.
  • Developing Treatment Plans: Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Counseling and Education: Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health illnesses/conditions, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Record Keeping and Consultation: Maintain accurate records detailing patients' treatment plans and outcomes, and initiate timely consultation and referral when necessary.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Experience: Prefer 3+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant.
  • Certification/License/Registration: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and a current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
