The Mortgage Associate supports Loan Officers while acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to advance to a Loan Officer role. This position involves participating in various online and classroom training sessions, complemented by hands-on experience through direct assistance to Loan Officers and Division Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learning and Development: Engage in structured training programs that cover essential lending topics, including loan types, credit assessment, and the loan approval process. Collaborate with management to understand mortgage rate sheets for accurate loan pricing and locking. Analyze various reports to gain insights into the mortgage process from application to closing.
  • Continuous Education and Licensing: Successfully complete required testing for mortgage licensing and maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations through ongoing education.
  • Support and Coordination: Ensure loan applications are complete by updating any missing information and maintaining accurate records within the Loan Origination System.
  • Business Development and Client Relations: Participate in networking events to foster relationships with builders and realtors, and collaborate with management on local marketing initiatives.
  • Customer-Focused Service: Ensure borrowers have multiple channels for communication and receive timely responses. Act as a liaison between borrowers and Loan Officers, scheduling meetings to address follow-up items.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist processing and closing teams in gathering necessary loan documents and support internal associates through various communication channels. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Your Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in mortgage or banking is advantageous.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product features and benefits.
  • A strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in standard office software applications.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
