About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at IDEXX Laboratories. As a key contributor to our veterinary diagnostic company, you will play a critical role in performing laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests, reading and releasing results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will also have the opportunity to specialize in one or more of the following areas:

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples
  • Setting up and running lab tests, and reading and releasing results according to SOPs
  • Specializing in one or more of the following areas: Hematology, Chemistry/Endocrinology, Urinalysis, Cytology, or Immunology/Serology
Requirements
  • 5-10+ years' experience working in a clinical diagnostic laboratory
  • Extensive experience setting up, running, reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers)
  • Experience with automated analyzers, such as Beckman Chemistry analyzers, Sysmex XN for Hematology, Siemens Novus, Siemens Immulite, and Hamilton STARlet series
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a love for bringing energy into the lab every day
  • Ability to concentrate on details and work reliably and precisely
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; a 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred

Schedule

You will be working 40 hours/week. The scheduled shifts will shift a bit, depending on training and which bench you're working on during a given week. Generally speaking, start times will be between the 11pm-2am range Monday through Friday nights. Weekend Rotations are required.
