Job Description:

Under limited supervision, this position provides high-level comprehensive engineering services to internal and external customers in factory and field settings. The role requires working on high-powered electronic equipment in industrial environments, aboard ships, and commercial facilities. Responsibilities include performing emergency and scheduled maintenance, assisting in equipment removal, modernization, and installation, and troubleshooting equipment down to component board level. The ideal candidate must be able to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings. Familiarity with Nuclear Navy principles and regulations is desired. The position also involves documenting test findings, status, and initiating procedure changes as required by company procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides customer support through on-site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment.
  • Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
  • Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
  • Assists with preparation prior to responding to field efforts, including travel requests, security information, and checking of test records.
  • Applies electronic theory and knowledge to perform operational tests, gather data, analyze faults, and perform repair/upgrade in company military product lines.
  • Troubleshoots problems and performs repairs, tests, and alignments to other company equipment.
  • Assists in special reports, engineering changes, failure analysis, and product improvement and quality.
  • Performs field service activities in support of engineering projects or programs.
  • Responsible for following all proper safety requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area.
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be physically able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, move auxiliary equipment, and lift heavy parts.
  • 50 to 60% travel required.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance and a U.S. passport.

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Competent computer skills related to Microsoft office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • United States citizen.
