The Therapist I is a key member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients and their families. The primary focus is on completing psychosocial assessments, providing individual, group, and family therapy, facilitating psycho-educational training, family meetings, and discharge planning. Additionally, the Therapist I assists in program development, develops and implements treatment plans, and provides linkage to outside resources.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Conducts a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and develops an initial discharge plan.
- Develops and implements treatment plans for clients based on assessment and coordinates additional services as needed, revising as necessary.
- Provides individual, group, or family sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan of the client.
- Applies psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families for treating diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment planning conferences, presenting client information and recommending effective treatment interventions.
- Maintains a caseload as assigned and develops and implements special client groups or program modules.
- Prepares progress notes and treatment updates in the medical record, maintaining all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards.
- Ensures each assigned client has a structured and clinically appropriate post-care plan, acting as a liaison to referral sources and supporting continuation of care.
- Provides crisis intervention to clients and families in acute distress and introduces and coordinates a wide range of community resources.
- May perform case management, discharge, or after-care planning as needed.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology required.
- At least one year of experience as a therapist with all age groups required.
