Job Overview

Position Summary

The Director of Child Development Programs at Black River Area Child Care Services plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our child care facility. This includes managing the planning and execution of programs for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, ensuring a nurturing and educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Program Director is tasked with:

  • Supervising the daily activities and programs for children.
  • Leading and mentoring staff, conducting regular meetings, and facilitating ongoing training and development.
  • Engaging with parents and the broader community to promote the services and mission of Black River Area Child Care Services.
  • Collaborating with the Board of Directors to communicate the center's needs, policies, and overall performance.

Qualifications

Work Schedule: Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
Experience: A minimum of two years in a child care teaching role or one year as a center director or lead teacher in a licensed setting is required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Educational Requirements: One of the following qualifications is necessary:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a valid WI DPI License for Kindergarten or early childhood teaching.
  • A certificate from The Registry indicating Registry Level 14 or higher.
  • Wisconsin Child Care Administrator's Credential.
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Completion of four approved courses in Early Childhood Education, with the expectation to obtain the WI Child Care Administrator Credential within three years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in CPR is advantageous.
