Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse for a travel nursing assignment in Elmira, New York.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care.
  • Administer and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of psychotropic medications.
  • Assist patients, and families as appropriate, to interpret and manage maladaptive behaviors and to plan healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Exercise balanced judgement in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Active RN License
  • Degree from accredited nursing program
  • BLS Certifications
  • Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting
  • Other requirements to be determined by our client facility
