Key Responsibilities:

The Salesforce Solutions Engineer will be responsible for developing software applications by utilizing Java and JavaScript, while also acquiring knowledge of the technologies and methodologies for application development within the Salesforce ecosystem. Core responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing daily administration of Salesforce development and testing environments.
  • Creating web applications adhering to contemporary industry standards and best practices.
  • Employing an object-oriented approach to enhance code reusability and adaptability.
  • Utilizing a state-of-the-art technology platform to expedite software development processes.
  • Functioning within an Agile software development framework while meeting the government's Waterfall-style project stage requirements.
  • Engaging daily with system and business analysts to clarify project requirements.
  • Receiving direction from the lead architect on design and implementation tasks.
  • Incorporating feedback from the lead architect on completed tasks, including necessary corrections or enhancements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to align new business requirements with legacy system integration.
  • Contributing to technical designs, including detailed data flows and schemas.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of experience in Salesforce Development or Administration.
  • Certification as a Platform Developer I.
Essential Skills:
  • Outstanding communication abilities in English, both written and verbal, with the capacity to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment under the guidance of a technical lead.
  • Proficiency in developing Apex (classes and triggers), Custom Lightning Components, and Visualforce to fulfill business requirements.
  • Experience in application development, including basic Visualforce pages/Lightning pages and Lightning Web Components.
  • Assisting in each release cycle to implement and deploy new features or updates to existing applications and code.
  • Skilled in Salesforce CLI and SFDX for deploying Salesforce applications using deployment files.
  • Experience with integrated applications via web services and middleware, such as MuleSoft.
  • Familiarity with setting up Salesforce Community Portals.
  • Experience in configuring Single Sign-On integrations with Active Directories.
  • Testing (unit and systems) and debugging skills.
  • Ability to inspect system logs to troubleshoot user issues and devise solutions.
  • Commitment to coding best practices and data integrity.
  • Support for the Salesforce Administrator in system upkeep.
  • Extensive experience in maintaining and creating Salesforce Flows.
  • Creation of technical documentation outlining solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology, particularly Scrum.
  • Capacity to obtain public trust clearance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in a federal government IT setting.
  • Knowledge of single sign-on (SSO) principles using SAML and OAuth2.
  • Certification as a Platform Developer II.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator.
Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office setting with a predominantly low to moderate noise level. The role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This role is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position, and involves standing, walking, sitting, using hands to manipulate objects, reaching with hands and arms, and communicating verbally. The workload may require extended periods of sitting. The incumbent must be capable of reading, performing simple mathematical calculations, and managing moderate stress levels.

The incumbent may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
