Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Impact Investment Officer, the Director of Credit will oversee and implement the credit and underwriting standards that support the organization's lending activities. This includes managing a four-person team of credit analysts and underwriters, developing and implementing policy, procedures, and activities, collaborating with the lending team to review loan applications, and assessing and monitoring the credit risk profile of each loan product and individual loans within portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience leading and supervising a team of credit analysts and underwriters, managing the credit approval process and underwriting for all loan products, leading credit risk management, and drafting policies and procedures to support departmental activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership, training, and orientation to ensure that credit and underwriting standards are communicated and maintained by the team.
  • Developing and implementing policy, procedures, and activities to manage the credit function of the organization.
  • Collaborating with the lending team to review loan applications for feasibility, structure, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assessing and monitoring the credit risk profile of each loan product and individual loans within portfolios.
  • Reviewing and approving or declining all loans and transactions within delegated authority.
