Job Summary

The RPG Developer I plays a crucial role in the organization by performing a variety of activities related to the company's Information Technology functions. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of applications on our IBMi.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requested enhancements and add/modify existing logic and database changes to achieve requested improvements to our systems.
  • Help develop and maintain current in-house software applications for existing systems using a variety of technical platforms and languages.
  • Apply knowledge of data centric architecture, design, programming, and performance to help update programs and resolve problems.
  • Understand good database design and be able to create/modify database objects using DB2 native and SQL tools.
  • Apply knowledge and help manage projects using project management, and change management software tools.
Requirements
  • Technical certification or degree in a related field either completed or in progress.
  • General understanding of programming languages.
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Experience with Software development, analysis, design, and construction including application of modern modular software concepts and patterns.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment; strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions, determine the downstream impact of decisions and associated risks.
Working Conditions

Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting. Manual dexterity: frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse. Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
