Position Overview

The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in the cardiovascular department, focusing on advanced imaging techniques and patient care during catheterization procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Specialty: Cath Lab / Radiologic Technology
  • Common Patient Conditions: Involves procedures such as right and left cardiac catheterization, diagnostic and interventional techniques, STEMI management, electrophysiology, pacemaker insertions, ICD placements, ablations, structural heart interventions, TAVR, Watchman, and MitraClip procedures.
  • Key Duties: Includes preparation, operation of equipment, and assisting in procedures.
  • Essential Skills: Experience in STEMI receiving centers is crucial, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with structural heart procedures. Ability to cover both electrophysiology and catheterization lab duties is required.
  • Technology Used: Familiarity with Cerner, Surginet, Sensis Vibe Hemodynamic Monitoring System, and Siemens C Arm Systems is necessary.
Work Schedule
  • Shifts: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM with self-scheduling options available.
  • On-Call Requirements: One weeknight on-call per week, with two nurses and a technologist available.
  • Weekend On-Call: Required from Friday evening to Monday morning.
  • Holiday Coverage: Expected to assist as needed.
  • Mandatory Standby: Yes, with a response time of 30 minutes to be ready in the lab.

  • Average Daily Cases: 14-22
  • Cardiologist Availability: On-call after hours with interventional cardiologists available.
  • Staffing: Includes a manager and charge nurse, along with a dedicated staff development nurse for orientation and education.
  • Dress Code: Provided scrubs.
