Job Summary

BCDC - Brookwood Medical Center seeks a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical technology and laboratory management, with a proven track record of developing and managing budgets, directing daily operations, and leading staff.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the annual department operating and capital budgets
  • Direct daily operations of the laboratory, including instrument acquisition, logistic support, and laboratory information systems integration
  • Lead and manage staff, including hiring, firing, and discipline
  • Ensure quality of testing in all areas of the laboratory
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty
  • Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor

Experience:

  • 5 years of progressive management experience in an acute care facility
  • Lab Director experience preferred

Certification:

  • Registered in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent)
  • Licensure, as required by State law
Physical Demands
  • Lift/position up to 20 lbs.
  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, and bending
  • Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position
  • 10% travel
