Key Responsibilities
  • Support modernization initiatives related to control systems, encompassing specifications, design, testing, commissioning, and documentation.
  • Execute software upgrades for Honeywell control systems, including controller configurations, backups, and routine maintenance.
  • Assist in the development and upkeep of the Process Control Network (PCN), both in software and hardware aspects, tailored for a large refinery or its segments.
  • Contribute to Microsoft Windows network administration and design tasks.
  • Facilitate the deployment of security updates, anti-virus solutions, and software enhancements.
  • Configure and comprehend all SCADA connections to the PCN, ensuring compatibility with various communication protocols for integrating third-party devices with the DCS.
  • Address and resolve issues related to distributed control system hardware and the process control network.
  • Understand the software applications' requirements and interactions within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and control systems network.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to enhance the efficiency of the PCN.
  • Establish standards, practices, and procedures for the management and maintenance of the PCN.
  • Engage in root cause analysis for equipment failures and incident investigations.
  • Share valuable insights and best practices across company refineries and with other teams focused on excellence.
Required Skills and Expertise
  • Familiarity with Honeywell DCS systems, including TDC3000, C300, TPS, and Experion PKS.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a refinery or related industry.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
  • Understanding of Industrial Control Systems hardware and software maintenance, including migration and upgrade strategies.
  • Experience in field instrumentation within a refinery setting.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking, particularly in switch/router management.
  • Additional experience with various Logic Solvers (PLC, etc.).
  • A strong desire to learn and enhance skills in process control and network technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical and practical information clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to take ownership of assigned processes.
  • Proven ability to complete complex tasks within established timelines.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA interfaces.
