Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Americas Accounting Senior Manager and is responsible for supporting on-time month-end close, performing account reconciliations, and balance sheet analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger. Review flux and trend analyses of financial statements data monthly.
  • Responsible for month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams to determine the proper accounting treatment of business transactions and resolve any aging items.
  • Support internal and external audits, as well as external reporting activities.
  • Assess current SOX controls to ensure adequacy. Identify and implement any new controls on existing or new processes, including updating/creating process documentation, collaborating with business process owners, etc.
  • Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years of related corporate accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting
  • Microsoft Excel medium to advanced user
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research issues in a complex accounting structure to resolve problems; detail-oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at a broader level.
  • Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to multi-task while working with a variety of individuals in both team and self-directed environments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management
  • Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month-end financial close while driving longer-term projects to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA license
  • Background in large multinational company
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, and SmartView tools
  • Public Accounting experience a plus
