Job Title: Care Coordinator

At Barrow Brain and Spine, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Care Coordinator to join our team. As a Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and run daily clinic with limited oversight from Lead Care Coordinator or Practice Manager.
  • Complete patient check-in process, including taking vitals and recording assessment in the patient chart for physician review.
  • Facilitate patient clinic by greeting and rooming patients, ensuring all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are available to the physician prior to patient arrival.
  • Enter orders and E-Prescribe information and create clinical visit summaries.
  • Register new patients in the electronic medical record (EMR) prior to scheduling the appointment, including demographic and insurance information.
  • Ensure all necessary authorizations for imaging and testing are obtained when required.
  • Represent physicians by screening incoming telephone calls, recording and transmitting messages, scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors.
  • Assist recall list for physicians, create diagnostic reviews, complete orders as testing is received, and follow-up on non-compliant orders.
  • Coordinate patient surgery with scheduling, authorizations, billing, and FMLA paperwork.
  • Provide coverage to other positions as requested.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years in a medical setting required.
  • Experience with Centricity a plus.
