As a PRN Respiratory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory therapy services during night shifts, specifically from 6 PM to 6 AM. Your expertise will be crucial in providing care across various patient demographics, from neonates to geriatrics.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
- Possess a Respiratory Therapist License issued by the State of Alabama.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required.
Job Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Physicians and the Respiratory Director, you will:
- Conduct all respiratory procedures in compliance with NBRC standards, state regulations, and departmental protocols.
- Administer a full range of respiratory care modalities to patients of all ages.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and successful health outcomes.
- Assess and recommend appropriate respiratory care interventions based on clinical observations.
- Provide respiratory support in acute, chronic, and emergency situations, including managing mechanical ventilation and artificial airways.
- Perform arterial blood gas analysis and deliver aerosolized medications along with other respiratory treatments.
- Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy using various devices, including high-flow nasal cannulas and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
- Maintain accurate patient care documentation in accordance with established policies.
