Role Overview

Our team is tasked with establishing processes, managing project definitions, communicating engineering milestones, and maintaining project timelines for new and ongoing privacy-related initiatives. Engineering Program Managers (EPMs) act as catalysts for their respective teams, ensuring clarity through effective planning, driving execution, setting clear goals, and identifying potential obstacles. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to influence and cultivate relationships across various functional areas and levels within our organization, including engineering, legal, privacy, marketing, design, and leadership. You will ensure that all products, services, and projects are crafted in accordance with Apple's privacy commitments, ensuring that privacy-sensitive work is recognized, monitored, and delivered punctually. In this capacity, you will uphold Apple's distinctive privacy promises to our customers while enabling our teams to provide impactful customer experiences that exceed expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in developing project plans and managing intricate, cross-functional projects within a technical consumer-focused environment.
  • A strong passion for customer privacy.
  • A proven track record of:
    • Identifying risks, formulating mitigation strategies, and facilitating conflict resolution.
    • Staying informed about evolving policies and technologies in the privacy domain to swiftly assess risks and propose mitigations.
    • Evaluating system architectures for privacy implications and pinpointing gaps or risks.
    • Navigating ambiguity and guiding teams towards clarity.
    • Simultaneously tracking and managing multiple unrelated activities in real-time.
    • Mobilizing, motivating, and influencing teams through effective advocacy.
    • Creating, implementing, and documenting repeatable processes and resources.
    • Independently solving complex problems.
    • Collaborating, communicating, and presenting technical solutions to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in implementing privacy, trust, and security measures that have been integrated into consumer products or services.
  • A comprehensive understanding of privacy from Apple's corporate perspective, including our commitment to safeguarding user data and privacy.
  • Experience with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, etc.
  • Familiarity with bug management systems.
  • Education: BA/BS or equivalent experience; an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.

Additional Information

  • At Apple, base pay is just one component of our total compensation package, which is determined within a range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $165,500 and $293,800, with actual pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a variety of discounted products and services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement at Apple. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
