Job Overview

Position Title: Lead HVAC Service Technician

Reports To: Service Manager

Department: Service

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with air and water-cooled chillers. This role requires collaboration within a team environment, executing various tasks such as troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and installation of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The HVAC systems may include split systems, mini-split systems, multi-zone systems, rooftop units (RTUs), self-contained units, controls, air handling units (AHUs), exhaust fans, pumps, piping, and other miscellaneous equipment as per client requests.

Complete service contracts, quoted projects, and demand service calls as assigned. Build long-lasting relationships with clients and ensure they are informed about the work performed to their satisfaction. Communicate and document project progress to all stakeholders involved.

Act as a primary resource for service technicians by providing technical support. Oversee the work of subcontractors and mentor technicians through training and guidance.

Procure materials and issue purchase orders to suppliers as necessary.

Safely operate a motor vehicle and trailer, adhering to company vehicle policies and all safety regulations.

Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory on the service vehicle.

Must successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation.

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license and Universal EPA certification.

Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills and maintain a polished appearance.

Have a solid understanding of chilled water systems, commercial HVAC, water source equipment, airflow properties, and ductwork.

Ability to comprehend and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, adhere to technical manuals, and communicate supply requests both verbally and in writing.

Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting over one hundred (100) pounds on occasion.

Physical activities required include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is required.

A minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in an HVAC or refrigeration setting is essential.
