Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement specialized education programs tailored to the needs of the unit.
- Address and resolve conflicts and challenges that arise within the educational framework.
- Deliver both formal and informal continuing education sessions to nursing staff.
- Facilitate the professional growth and development of clinical staff.
- Coordinate orientation programs and support various learning experiences for new staff members.
- Utilize expert knowledge of specific patient demographics to enhance care delivery.
- Ensure the delivery of quality nursing care through effective educational practices.
- Contribute to the advancement of a professional practice environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid RN license in Georgia.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required within two years if currently holding an ADN.
- A minimum of three years of direct patient care experience as a registered nurse.
- Membership in a professional nursing organization is expected within one month of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCRN certification is highly desirable.
- A Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred within five years.
- Prior experience in staff development and educational roles is advantageous.
Essential Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Comprehensive medical knowledge and clinical skills.
- Proficient in teaching methodologies and educational techniques.
- Commitment to maintaining required competencies in educational practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift weights up to 100 lbs.
- Capable of carrying weights up to 50 lbs.
- Visual acuity is essential for effective patient care.
- Frequent kneeling, stooping, and bending are required.
- Regular standing and walking are part of the role.
- Occasional pushing and pulling may be necessary.
- Requires reading, writing, reasoning, verbal communication, keyboarding, and driving skills.
