At Sacred Heart Children's Hospital - AH, we are seeking a skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play a critical role in assessing and treating patients with complex wounds, ostomies, or continence conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess pressure injuries, identify treatment options, and implement wound care best practices to prevent future injuries from occurring.
- Manage foot ulcers in patients with diabetes, teach patients how to maintain a healthy foot care routine, and assess and treat first, second, and third-degree wounds.
- Provide proficient care in antibiotic ointments, bandage assessment for type of wound, and all pertinent wound care treatments, as well as traumatic wound care, skin tears, lacerations, and all-penetrating wounds.
- Educate patients and families through verbal instruction and hands-on training and demonstrations to empower patients and families.
- Provide proficient care in ostomy care, infection control, and patient education.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
- Evidence of a minimum of one year of recent wound care experience.
- Evidence of current AHA BLS is required.
