Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach first-year writing and reading courses at Northern Kentucky University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching composition and reading, as well as experience working with first-year students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach between three and nine hours of college writing and/or reading per semester.
  • Provide support to students through office hours.
  • Align assignments and curriculum with programmatic and university student learning outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in English or a closely related field (with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in English).
  • Strong background in and evidence of teaching composition and reading and working with first-year students.
  • Experience teaching co-requisite writing courses and/or experience teaching non-native speakers is desired, as is a commitment to intercultural competence and inclusive excellence.
What We Offer

The department will provide mentoring and performance reviews as well as support for continuing job searches. The pay for a three-credit course varies slightly based on years of experience and education, but is projected to be between $2700 and $3000.
