Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Englewood Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech and language impairments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans (IEPs) to address each student's specific communication needs.
  • Deliver direct therapeutic services to students experiencing speech and language difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support and integrate speech and language goals within the classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, therapy sessions, and IEP documentation.
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Provide guidance and training to teachers and parents on strategies to support students' communication development.
  • Engage in continuous professional learning to stay updated with the latest practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider license with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Comprehensive understanding of speech and language disorders and development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, educational staff, and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices.
