Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
  • Engage in the formulation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial strategies. Supervise budget adherence and manage expenses with an emphasis on enhanced productivity.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels while controlling costs associated with supplies and labor.
Team Leadership:
  • Direct daily staffing needs, organize and allocate tasks, and set performance and development objectives for team members. Offer guidance, coaching, and consistent feedback to facilitate conflict resolution and enhance team member performance.
  • Train and educate all staff in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and safety standards. Confirm that team members are adequately trained and equipped to perform their responsibilities. May assist with intensive cleaning tasks and/or support housekeeping personnel during peak periods.
Guest Satisfaction:
  • Oversee the standard of housekeeping and laundry services. Schedule regular inspections of all guest accommodations and communal areas to ensure that furnishings, rooms, equipment, linens, and restrooms are clean and well-maintained to meet guest expectations.
  • Address the specific needs and requests of guests, including VIPs, returning visitors, and club members.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure that corrective measures are implemented to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
Sustainable Practices:
  • Order and manage supplies and equipment promptly and efficiently while minimizing waste and supporting eco-friendly initiatives (e.g., recycling and environmentally safe cleaning products).
  • May oversee the security of lost and found items throughout the establishment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. May also act as the manager on duty.
Accountability

This role represents a senior housekeeping position within a full-service hotel that may encompass multiple locations and facilities with high-volume catering and event services. Typically supervises a substantial number of staff.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A High School Diploma or equivalent, along with four years of experience in housekeeping/laundry, preferably in a hotel of comparable size, including supervisory experience. Some college education is preferred. Proficiency in English is required, with additional languages being advantageous.
