Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse II, Infusion Center at SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in an acute setting. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing theories, concepts, and practices, as well as excellent communication and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, including direct patient care and patient/family education.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through effective communication.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.
  • Manage patient care assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
  • Infusion administering Chemo, ONS/ONCC-Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate within 6 months.
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts, and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize patient care, assignments, and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while accomplishing multiple interventions in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate and engage team members, patients, and families in a variety of stressful situations.
  • Ability to use existing procedures and critical thinking to identify and solve routine or complex problems.
  • Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Working Conditions:

This position may regularly work with hazardous or potentially hazardous drugs, as identified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.
