Compensation Range: $16.50-$19.00 per hour

Under the guidance of the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Store Supervisor, the Cashier Team Leader is responsible for the following duties:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee cashier operations, manage breaks, process returns, handle transactions, and ensure efficient operational flow.
  • Organize product displays at the front of the store and assist other departments as necessary.
  • Fill in for open shifts by cross-training, working in various departments, or coordinating with staff for assistance.
  • Exercise sound judgment in customer and employee interactions, addressing situations calmly and professionally.
  • Handle returns with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and set a standard for cashiers to follow.
  • Bag groceries with consideration for customer preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and dust-free register area and computer station.
  • Restock and organize products, ensuring price consistency with shelf labels, and marking discrepancies with blue chips.
  • Stay vigilant regarding safety and security protocols.
  • Perform cleaning duties, manage returns, maintain store cleanliness, and organize carts.
  • Support fellow employees as needed.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to the following:

Education/Training:
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
Experience:
  • Prior experience as a cashier is required.
  • Strong mathematical skills are essential.
Knowledge:
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English at an advanced level.
  • Experience in team leadership.
Skills:
  • Exemplify outstanding customer service and hold team members accountable for the same.
  • Be prepared to cover breaks for other staff members.
  • Maintain composure under pressure.
  • Interact with customers respectfully and warmly.
  • Effectively communicate product knowledge to customers in an understandable way.
  • Work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist customers promptly, taking special requests and communicating them to management.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift grocery and bulk items up to 50 lbs. multiple times throughout the day.
  • Carry items from carts or dollies to shelves, typically within a short distance.
  • Push or pull carts and dollies, including electric pallet jacks.
Special Requirements:
  • Availability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
