At Apple, we are seeking a highly skilled Timing Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for crafting innovative timing designs that will delight millions of Apple customers every day.

This role requires a strong understanding of physical design methodologies, including physically aware synthesis, floor-planning, and place & route. You will work closely with architecture, CAD, and logic design teams to deliver outstanding PHY designs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating block-level static timing constraints
  • Closing timing on critical blocks by working with RTL and PD teams
  • Developing and validating high-performance low-power clock network guidelines
  • Performing timing optimization and validating the design for functionality
  • Generating and implementing ECOs to fix timing issues
  • Running timing verification flow at chip/block level and providing guidelines to fix violations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and practices in timing closures, physical design, and synthesis
  • Experience in developing and implementing STA constraints
  • Solid understanding of all aspects of timing flow, physical construction, integration, and physical verification
  • Working knowledge of basic SoC architecture and HDL languages like Verilog
  • Power user of industry-standard timing, physical design, and synthesis tools
  • Solid understanding of scripting languages such as Perl/Tcl
