Key Responsibilities of the Pest Control Technician Trainee

The Pest Control Technician Trainee will provide pest management and consulting services to clients along a designated route. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. For those on driving routes, a company vehicle, EZPass, and fuel card will be provided. For walking routes, an unlimited MTA Metrocard will be available.

Work Schedule

We offer flexible day schedules from Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, with start times ranging from 6 AM to 9 AM. Night shifts are also available, with start times varying between 6 PM and 10 PM.

A Day in the Life of a Pest Control Technician Trainee

  • Manage an assigned pest control route
  • Adhere to the daily route schedule, ensuring timely service at each client location
  • Discuss the services provided with customers before concluding the visit
  • Recommend effective pest control solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality service to all clients
  • Identify opportunities to promote and sell additional company services
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers, clients, partners, and vendors
  • Be available for weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime work as required
  • Update the PestPac Mobile platform promptly after each service
  • Provide detailed daily reports on services rendered to clients as necessary

Qualifications for Pest Control Technician Trainees

  • High School diploma or equivalent; college education is a plus
  • Ability to obtain NYSDEC Certifications in 7A and 7F
  • Valid NYS driver's license (if assigned to a driving route)
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with a friendly and outgoing attitude
  • Experience in field sales/service, food service, or related fields is advantageous
  • Prior experience in pest management is beneficial but not mandatory
