Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, including forecasting and ensuring adequate staffing.
    • Collaborate with physicians, management team members, and business partners to address strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
  • Patient Care and Safety
    • Ensure the delivery of quality care to patients through the utilization of the nursing process.
    • Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
  • Staff Development and Performance
    • Recruit, retain, and develop staff to ensure adequate staffing and high-quality patient care.
    • Provide performance feedback and address issues as necessary.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance
    • Participate in a systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
    • Documented degree plan and timeframe to complete Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted.
  • Licenses/Certifications
    • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
    • Certified in Basic Life Support.
    • Professional certification in clinical area or management preferred.
  • Experience
    • Three (3) or more years experience in clinical area of practice.
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory or management role.
