About the Role:

The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees at Sentara Hospitals and Free-standing Emergency Departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol campus and monitor activity in and around buildings and grounds
  • Respond to routine and emergency situations
  • Perform camera surveillance and maintain department logs and records
  • Use computer skills for documentation of daily activities
  • Conduct security investigations and evaluate situations

Requirements:

  • High School Grad or Equivalent Required
  • Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) must be successfully obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Driver's License Required
