Job Summary:

The Housekeeping and Sanitation Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas within the Villa at Rose City facility. This includes cleaning and servicing furniture, floors, and equipment, as well as ensuring that all areas are clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, and attractive at all times.

Responsibilities:

Assemble and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment on housekeeping carts.
Follow daily work routines and clean assigned areas, including floors, walls, and ceilings.
Gather and dispose of trash, ensuring that plastic liners are in containers at all times.
Vacuum, dust, and wet mop floors, as well as sanitize surfaces and equipment.
Empties trash bins and maintains a clean environment surrounding the dumpster.
Responsible for the safe and proper mixing of chemicals, using proper personal protective equipment as required.

Safety:

Knows and follows facility rules and regulations.
Demonstrates proper use of equipment and reports any equipment needs or repairs.
Follows facility-smoking policies and dress and personal hygiene policies.
Attends and participates in in-service classes and other meetings as assigned.
Complies with laws and regulations applicable to the position and acts in accordance with Villa's Corporate Compliance Program.
Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy and respect.

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Previous institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices required.
Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
Meet all health requirements as needed.
