Position Summary

Wind River Environmental LLC is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a vital member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning and reliability of our fleet of trucks and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems, including air brakes, electrical components, hydraulics, engines, and emission control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair specialized equipment used in our operations.
  • Respond to roadside breakdowns or emergencies as needed.
  • Procure necessary parts and supplies to maintain optimal fleet readiness.
  • Utilize our fleet management software to meticulously record all repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the regional fleet manager or supervisor to effectively address any fleet-related issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive preventive maintenance on various types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform thorough inspections and document the condition of all machinery.
  • Coordinate repairs with external vendors when required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local EPA, DOT, ANSI, OSHA, and safety regulations governing fleet operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • You will regularly be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including non-hazardous fumes and noise levels.
  • The ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively is essential.
  • Interaction with customers and colleagues is a regular part of this role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as company policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps, and road signs.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy, including email and internet navigation.
  • Competency in performing basic mathematical calculations.
