Job Title: Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the success of our dermatology practice, PhyNet Dermatology LLC. This dynamic individual will provide exceptional support to our physicians, ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Room patients, update medical histories, and document reason for visit and history of present illness.
  • Assist physicians with office procedures, including biopsies, surgeries, and treatments for various skin conditions.
  • Work as part of a team to see a patient volume of up to 40 patients per day.
  • Perform basic scribing responsibilities, take and document patient HPI, and update medical/surgical/family history, medications, and allergies.
  • Prep and assist with numerous surgical procedures, cosmetic procedures, and excisions.
  • Demonstrate strict sterile techniques, numb treatment areas, and remove sutures as needed.
  • Log pathology and transmit pathology orders to the appropriate lab.
  • Input templates and scribe chart notes as required by the physician.
  • Process RX refills and submit prior authorizations.
  • Operate Narrowband and photodynamic therapy units, fill liquid nitrogen containers, and clean and stock patient examination rooms and supply areas.
  • Follow infection control practices and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of medical assistant experience, preferably in dermatology.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer.

Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
