About the RoleThis is a challenging opportunity for a skilled chemist to join our team and make a meaningful impact on our operations. As a Quality Control Chemist, you will be responsible for developing and adapting lab procedures, helping with experimental design, and providing analytical services for our chlorate plants. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the high-quality products that our customers rely on.
Key Responsibilities- Provide analytical services for Eastover and Augusta sodium chlorate plants, as well as other Kemira plants on an as-needed basis, under the guidance of senior management and experts in the field.
- Manage the maintenance of all Analytical Instrumentation, including scheduling of preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and manage laboratory procedures for plant and shop samples as needed, taking into account industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Perform and/or assist in experiments aimed at improving chlorate production or precious metal coatings/anode production, working closely with management and subject matter experts.
- Use, maintain, and develop key databases for sample analysis for the plants and shop, utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and drive process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, with some Engineering courses beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments and locations.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire to continuously learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to learn additional software as needed.
- Competitive salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
