Automotive Body Repair Specialist

Objective:
The Automotive Body Repair Specialist is responsible for restoring and refinishing damaged vehicle body components in line with manufacturer and dealership standards, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and spray painting apparatus. The specialist will also engage in dealer preparation tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about the latest repair techniques and methodologies for the vehicles serviced by the dealership.
- Execute all body and fender repairs according to the provided estimates and any necessary supplements.
- Perform tasks as detailed on the repair order with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidation processes.
- Diagnose malfunctions and carry out the required repairs.
- Coordinate with the parts department to procure necessary components.
- Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety or service requirements.
- Inform the Body Shop Manager of any additional work that may be necessary.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate chemical mixing.
- Adhere to factory and dealership protocols when executing warranty repairs.
- Preserve and label all warranty parts for future reference.
- Stay updated with the latest technical bulletins, service manuals, and other relevant publications.
- Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions and remain knowledgeable about factory technical bulletins.
- Operate all Body Shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Exercise discretion in the use of company materials and supplies.
- Perform light painting tasks if deemed qualified and necessary by management.
- Ensure that customer vehicles are kept in pristine condition.
- Document all completed work promptly.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
- Obtain management approval and ensure it is documented before performing any work on personal vehicles.
