Job Summary
As an OR Travel Nurse with Travel Nurse Across America, you will have the chance to work on a variety of cases, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure seamless patient care. Your role will involve preparing patients for surgery, assisting during procedures, and providing post-operative care and education to patients and their families.
About the Job
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant. You should be proficient in administering medications, monitoring patient vital signs, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will need to be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring they are properly positioned, draped, and prepared for the procedure.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations, maintaining a safe and organized sterile field.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
- Administer medications and fluids as ordered by the surgeon or anesthesiologist.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families before, during, and after surgery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This figure includes a base salary and additional compensation for benefits and bonuses.
