Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for drug handling and distribution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inventory and accountability of prescription drugs, including methadone.
  • Provide training and education to staff on medication management, adverse reactions, and special diets.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing.
  • Monitor and report any irregularities or concerns related to medication use or patient care.
  • Participate in regulatory agency surveys and audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Pharmacist in Louisiana.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Federal, State, and CARF standards and regulations.
  • Understanding of local community drug trends and the effects on the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse.
