About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Improvement Specialist II to lead supplier performance improvement projects and drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement within our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase supplier capability of consistently meeting requirements.
  • Manage complex projects with minimal oversight and monitor, communicate, and improve key supply chain KPIs.
  • Provide periodic reports to key stakeholders on supplier improvement progress and escalate supplier quality or performance concerns.
  • Champion problem-solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented and assist in the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers.
  • Support the resolution of customer and internal product quality issues as they relate to supplied components and maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule.
  • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement and travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or 4-6 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, especially as they relate to machining and assembly, and knowledge of various quality system methodologies such as Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a valid driver's license in good standing.
