Asylum Case Management Paralegal

The Matian Firm is seeking a dedicated Immigration Paralegal to enhance our Affirmative Asylum team. In this role, you will work closely with the Affirmative Asylum Attorney, contributing to the success of our clients' cases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service abilities and effective case management expertise. Familiarity with immigration court processes, affirmative asylum, and bond hearings is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate case documentation and prepare affirmative asylum applications for submission to the Asylum Office.
- Prepare clients for their asylum interviews, ensuring they are well-informed and ready.
- Manage cases efficiently using case management and billing systems to adhere to both internal and external timelines.
- Adhere to established office protocols and procedures.
- Regularly update our case management system with client details, case progress, and communications.
- Maintain organized electronic files and documentation to track all client-related activities.
- Keep clients informed about the status of their cases throughout the process.
- Support attorneys and team members in managing the overall caseload.
- Complete daily tasks and provide weekly updates on case progress.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in affirmative asylum.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, Citizenship processes, and other USCIS forms is advantageous.
- Experience with case management software, such as Clio and Airtable, is preferred.
Compensation: $20.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience.
