Bindery Specialist

AlphaGraphics - US403 is seeking a highly skilled Bindery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating various machines and equipment to finish printed products.

• Examine printed products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Read work orders to determine machine set-up instructions and specifications.
• Install and adjust bindery machine devices to accommodate various sheet sizes and types.
• Trim edges of books to size using cutting machines or hand cutters.
• Stitch or glue endpapers, bindings, and signatures using sewing machines or glue machines.
• Maintain records of daily production and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions.
• Prepare finished products for shipping by wrapping or packing books and stacking boxes on pallets.

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
• Effective communication skills to convey information and ideas to colleagues.
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical solutions.
• Visual-spatial skills to arrange and rearrange objects and actions in a specific order or pattern.
