We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team on the 4th Floor Progressive Care Unit at Henry Ford Health System. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including vital signs, blood draws, and venipuncture.
- Participate in team roundings and identify concerns related to patients, staff, and self, communicating with the responsible RN.
- Assist with patient education and provide input to the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
- Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures and recognize opportunities for own continuing education.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CNA or completion of a Nurse Assistant program preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role or currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course.
- Foreign-trained and licensed RNs who have relocated to the United States and do not hold a Michigan RN license may also be considered.
- Medical Assistant program with or without experience may also be considered.
