Job Title: Registered Dietitian

AdeIphi MedicaI Staffing is seeking a skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in Soledad, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Dietitian to provide nutrition services to our clients in a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with experience in planning and implementing dietary interventions and strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist and advise clinical personnel on special nutritional needs within the scope of practice for a Registered Dietitian in the State of California.
  • Plan dietary interventions and strategies, attend interdisciplinary team conferences, monitor and document nutritional needs and goals, and accept or transmit physician orders consistent with established protocols for implementing medical nutrition therapy.
  • Conduct nutrition assessments within seventy-two (72) hours of a physician's order, consult with patients/youth, evaluate their nutritional needs, and provide nutritional counseling as needed.
  • Collect information on patient/youth nutritional history and participate in committees related to nutrition, food service, bioethics, performance improvement/quality assurance, and other relevant topics.
  • Instruct institutional food service employees on the preparation and distribution of medical diets and provide dietary staff with alternative food product suggestions or allowed/acceptable food substitutions as needed.
  • Provide follow-up consultations with patients/youth as needed or as ordered by a physician and maintain a professional working relationship between Food Services, Correctional Healthcare Services staff, and custodial staff.
  • Comply with and practice universal safety precautions, adhere to facilities' security policy at all times, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Monitor the clinic dietary service program in the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Correctional Treatment Center (CTC), and/or Licensed Hospital to ensure compliance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, SNF/CTC Dietary Services requirements.
  • Prepare written dietary service status reports each month, including assessments, follow-ups completed, and recommendations for dietary policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current and valid registration issued by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for practice in California.
  • At least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (with AED).
  • Must be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing).
