Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients by maintaining aseptic techniques and monitoring situations that could lead to breaches.">
  • Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards.">
  • Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite and position them according to the type of surgery.">
  • Identify and care for biological specimens and prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case.">
  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.">
  • Perform direct patient care and assistance care in the OR under the direction of a professional nurse.">
  • Proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, and Robotics.">
  • Establish and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments, and sutures to the physician.">
  • Ensure preference cards are kept up to date and as complete as possible.">
  • Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.">
  • Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.">
  • 2 or more years of experience preferred.">
  • BLS required.">
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.">
  • Varies work schedule.">
  • Full Time work type.">
  • $65,000 - $80,000 per year (estimated salary).">
