Location: This role requires onsite presence.

Position Objective

The Tax Credit Compliance Analyst collaborates closely with the Tax Credit Manager to support the strategic vision for organizational growth and development. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in tax credit initiatives, a comprehensive understanding of low-income housing tax credit regulations, and the ability to function effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and implement changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate tenant files for all relevant LI properties in accordance with LIHTC standards.
  • Process applications for program approval following established procedures and regulations.
  • Review and validate resident files to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local eligibility standards.
  • Prepare and manage recertifications and lease renewals in line with program guidelines.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with applicants and tenants.
  • Analyze financial data to assess eligibility for various tax credit programs.
  • Keep comprehensive records, forms, and documentation for tax credit initiatives up to date.
  • Ensure meticulous maintenance of tenant files and electronic records to comply with LIHTC regulations.
  • Provide regular updates on tax credit statuses to the Tax Credit Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of LIHTC laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in financial data analysis for tax credit eligibility.
  • TCS certification is preferred or the ability to obtain it within the first 90 days.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.

Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in tax credit management or a related area is required.
