Job Title: Labor Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Labor Nurse to join our team at CommonSpirit Health. As a Labor Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage and care for laboring patients under the direction of the Maternal Child Manager/Director.
  • Employ critical thinking to integrate objective data with knowledge gained from an assessment of the subjective experiences of patients.
  • Continually evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and seek to optimize outcomes.
  • Practice within the scopes and standards of practice set forth by the American Nurses Association.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum: 1 year of the last 2 years, recent experience as an RN in Labor and Delivery, or as an RN in an acute care setting and successful completion of applicable clinical and didactic SRDH specialty training program.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN = Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada.
  • CT CPRBLS = AHA Basic Life Support-Nat'l.
  • CT NRP = Neonatal Resuscitation-Nat'l.
  • CT CPRACLS = Advanced Cardiac Life Support-Nat'l.
  • CT EFM = Electronic Fetal Monitoring-Nat'l - within 6 months of hire.
  • CT AFM = Advanced Fetal Monitoring; CPR - within 6 months of hire.
  • Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, Post-gynecological and Level 1 Newborn Care.
  • Circulate for surgical procedures performed on the Maternal Child Unit.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
  • Medical Screening Exam Competency and Triage Obstetrical Patients (within 6 months of hire for experienced nurses (Prior nursing experience- a minimum of one (1) year of independent practice in Labor & Delivery experience).
  • Newborn stabilization and resuscitation (baby catcher).
  • Post Anesthesia Care.

Please note that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
