Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in a float position. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of procedures, including general, vascular, and cardiac studies.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Communicate findings to physicians and provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training beyond high school in sonography.
  • Experience in ultrasound imaging and patient care.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
