Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Guidance Counselor to provide academic and personal support to students at Andover High School. The successful candidate will have a strong background in school counseling and a passion for helping students achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel students on course selection and academic progress.
- Assist students with post-secondary planning, including college and vocational school choices, career options, and employment.
- Develop and maintain peer counseling strategies.
- Contribute to the on-going communication network between students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Assist with department-related procedures and functions.
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts certification in guidance: 9-12.
- Master's degree.
- Experience in school counseling (9-12) and knowledge of current counseling strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in individual and group counseling.
- Demonstrated experience in peer counseling programs.
- Demonstrated experience with extensive post-secondary educational programs.
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication.
